About the project

Feeder is an intelligent magazine that helps you discover interesting digital content.

Your Feeder is as unique as you are. Feeder learns what you like and gets smarter as you use it. Feeder analyzes millions of articles each day and brings you the best of your favorite magazines, newspapers, authors, blogs, and videos.

My Role

I filled the role of Creative Director on Feeder working with a team of incredibly qualified people on a tight deadline. I led the design process, oversaw user experience and developers and did my best to keep everyone running in the same direction.

All pages were designed to work across all devices and screen sizes.

After discussing with the Feeder team the decision was made to design for the iPhone and the two most popular Android phone resolution. We employed Adaptive Images™ which serves images appropriate to the user’s device, reducing load time improving performance. This requires a bit more development work, but makes for an improved user experience on mobile especially when broadband access is limited.

We aligned the tablet experience with the desk top taking into consideration possible slower bandwidth of wireless compared to desktops connected with WiFi. We also designed the interface to accommodate touch. We implemented mobile detection software serving lighter content and also removing unnecessary/unused JavaScript and CSS.

For the Desktop. The site is optimized for broadband connection and computers with more robust hardware such as processors and RAM. The desktop experience is no compromise.
Wow! Time really does fly when you’re having fun.
Not to worry I’ve prepared a few more for case studies.
